Updating

Companion keeps several versions of a module installed side by side, and each connection chooses which one it uses. Updating is a matter of adding the new version and switching your connection to it.

Never remove the connection or the module to update

Removing the Cloudmix connection or the Cloudmix Studio module deletes every Cloudmix action and feedback on your buttons. You'd have to rebuild them.

Update to a new version​

  1. Download the new version from Releases.
  2. In Companion, go to Modules, choose Import, and select the new .tgz. It's added next to the versions you already have.
  3. Go to Connections and open your Cloudmix connection.
  4. Click the pencil next to its module version, and choose the new version.

The connection restarts on the new version. Your buttons, actions and feedbacks stay as they were.

Go back to an earlier version​

The earlier version is still installed. Open the connection, click the pencil next to its module version, and choose the version you want.

One build per version number​

Each version number is one specific build. If Companion already has a version installed, don't import a different file with the same version number. Only use files from Releases.
